the house in the photo was the family home of my great grandfather. Located in Weimar Germany and recently restored, it was designed by historian of Italian Renaissance Architecture Carl von Stegmann.

About my librarymostly academic stuff here with some non-fiction, the occasional cookbook, or Mona Lisa book thrown in.

Thanks for commenting on my Germans-in-Texas books. I'm working on a book about my ancestors. Are you descended from the Fredericksburg group or the New Braunfels group? Or a different group?
I so enjoyed browsing your library! I probably shouldn't have spent so much time looking as it made me think of my so-far-unsuccessful attempts to persuade my better half that we have to visit Italy next year. And I had no idea that plant was an oleander. :o All the plants were already there when we bought the house, and I have looked up plant toxicity, but I thought that plant was a guava. E has never been outside unsupervised, but it's good to know. Now that I know, I don't worry so much for her (since she's not a mouther) as for our cat, Nikita.
