We have divided the collection in two (both on the first floor within sight of each other). One shelf is in the entrance lobby and the other is in our reference room. I post new book announcements on faculty/staff and student email lists as well as the library's What's New page. Most of the promotion comes from word-of-mouth. We originally intended the collection for students but university staff are by far the largest users (followed by faculty and students). We have a cadre of regulars now as well as users sending me reviews to post on LibraryThing. If you are interested, I can forward our current top 25 books.
Have you just started your leisure/browsing collection? We started the Leisure Reading Collection at the University of Dayton about three years ago and it is a huge success with around a 95% check-out rate. We use McNaughton to lease most of the titles. Others are donated, purchased, or added via LibraryThing resources.
