About meA librarian and book lover. Worked in an academic rare book medical library for ten years and spent the last five years in archives and special collections. Never handled an incunabula I didn't fall in love with and am especially fond of provenance copies and contemporary bindings. Collect bookplates and the books that go with them.

About my libraryI own an eclectic collection of books about books and history of medicine. I have just about every book Thomas Merton wrote (except "Elected Silence" the British edition of "The Seven Storey Mountain" edited by Evelyn Waugh). I collect travel books, biographies, and if they are combined, as in Boswell's "Journey to the Hebrides", well, that's perfection.

Lately, books about books and the history of libraries and technology affecting how information is disseminated and understood have been my current obsession.

In other words, just a typical bibliophile.
