About meA serious reader all my life, I was the kid on the playground with a Nancy Drew (not all the time, I did play with other kids!). In the years since I stopped buying and started borrowing books from the library, I have become much more open to new authors, genres, etc. I discovered (or rediscovered, really; I did read some as a child) fantasy, have acquired a taste for non-fiction as well, and am slowly trying to rectify my sad deficit in the classics. I keep an extensive TBR list in NoteBook, an app for Macs. At this point, I am too lazy to start wishlisting them on LT. I love discovering new books and authors on the internet, especially the books that don't make it on to the best-seller list or the tables at the front of B&N.

About my libraryMy library consists of both books I own and books I have borrowed from the library, since library books form the bulk of what I have been reading for the last several years.

Been a Scalzi fan since I discovered "Old Man's War" three or four years ago. I've already finished "Redshirts" and enjoyed it tho it is not my favorite Scalzi. Hope you enjoy your read of it.
I just finished Shutter Island and I totally did not see the end coming. Very clever! I can't wait to see the movie.
Good to know you liked Shutter Island. I just added The Night Circus to my wishlist so I haven't read it yet.

Thank you for your kind words about my scrapbook pages.

You have some cute kitties!
Thanks--I think I certainly touched a nerve with my Pillars of the Earth review! I sincerely thought I was the only one out there who just didn't get what all of the fuss was about until I posted my review. Apparently, there's an entire underground faction who despise the book as much as I (which has redeemed my faith in humanity).
