About meAlex Athanassakos was born in Greece in 1952 and migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1978 where he presently lives. After obtaining his PhD, he taught economics at Concordia University in Montreal and at York University in Toronto. "Our Travels with Alexander" is his first book and it describes his experience with taking a year off work and spending it in France with his spouse and his 12-month old son. He is currently working on a novel entitled "On Democracy".
