Hey, I'm not usually into fantasy but I read the Mists of Avalon a few years back and I was looking for something similar. I'm not necessarily interested in another Arthurian Legend as much as I'm interested in the Celtic mythology aspect of it. I was considering the Sevenwaters Trilogy and I noticed you had read them (actually I searched for someone who had read similar books to me and got you). Would you recommend them or do you have another fantasy book/series you could recommend to me? Thanks.
The Garden

Dahlias fill a wondrous garden;
Peonies from the land of palms.
Radiant in their musky splendor;
Tulips with their gaudy charms.
Ah! for me spring's daffodillies,
Not the summer's tiger lilies.

For the gorgeous tiger lilies
Are the dark-eyed belles of Spain;
And the peonies, Eastern maidens
With their passionate cheeks aflame.
What care I for tulips slender,
With their oriental splendor!

But within the gorgeous garden,
In an angle of the wall,
Where the dew-drops still were clinging
In a grassy tangle tall,
There I spied a rosebud hiding,
In its weedy bower confiding.

Modest bud, still fresh with morning,
You are like a maid I know;
I will pass those gorgeous beauties;
They would stain a breast of snow.
I will pluck thee; - go, sweet blossom,
She shall wear thee on her bosom.

Hi there,

Thanks for the friending! I haven't read the YA novel but it sounds good, I've got a copy of Justine Musk's Lord of the Bones but I think that's the follow on to Blood Angel? What did you make of the Hunger Games? I couldn't put my copy down the whole time I was reading it.

Feel free to stop by often for recommmends unfortunately compulsive book buying will not be one of my vices that I conquer this year. RE the profile picture that was actually taken on my last day at a particular job - hey, they were the ones who said 'casual Friday' not me! Your comment about wanting to be the Grim Reaper when you grew up made me laugh because one of my friends got strange looks when she told the career's adviser at school that she wanted to be a contract assassin!

I have to read a book for a Language Arts project. Do you have any horror/thriller books that you would recommend? I just have no idea what to read...
"Pirates!" by Celia Rees? I can't say that I have. I believe that I've checked it out, but I don't think I actually read it...

So many books, so little time! I've got about fifteen books on hold and about twenty more on my list to read!

But I will get to that book, someday. I have added it to my list!
Nice library. I'll have to read some of the books you have in there!
Thanks so much for the add :)
I just love your nickname for Library Thing. How quaint and magical..would love to add you as one of my interesting libraries and possibly friends too.
GrannyB.
LOVE your taste in books. : ) Still building my library up as I'm new but we share many similar tastes....
She's very good.
But I've yet to manage and even read all of her books I have.
& I've been reading them for so long. I always get sidetracked.
Hey, I can't remember where I found you, but we have a few of the same books, so I thought I'd say hi. :D
Hello again. :) No, I haven't read Cusick's Unseen series. I'm sorry to say, I wasn't aware she had a new series out. But hopefully I'll come across some of hers sometime soon, even if they are depressing. I mostly just have her old 80s/90s stuff. Thankfully some of the same authors from back them are still writing, like Christopher Pike, R. L. Stine, etc.
Hiya! Glad to see someone else likes to read the same books I do: YA thrillers, horror, fantasy, etc. :) I love your little fantasy icon, too!
