About me I am Dutch by birth, but I grew up in Malaysia, Oman, and Texas. I finished my schooling in Groningen, the Netherlands (stopping just short of a degree in computing science) and then I moved to Finland. My cultural dislocation sometimes confuses people.

My current ambition is to (a) design and launch an online game, (b) write a book, and/or (c) achieve great wealth by founding a technology company. Yep, I have difficulty focusing on one thing at a time.

About my library I've entered the bulk of my fantasy and science fiction books. What remains is some specialty shelves and most of my non-fiction. Probably another 500 books to go!

I'm science_fox on the Bad Science forums, if we need more Hpathy comments!

Have you read Cyteen by Cherryh, as you've lots of her books? One of her very best I feel.
Web comics and self-publishing. That's an interesting argument I hadn't considered before. Still, the two seem fundamentally different. Having an online presence isn't the same thing as self-publishing. Relative amateurs can accessibly achieve results to rival the professionals online, but even a cursory glance at a book can usually tell if it's self-published.

Though if xkcd were put out as a stapled, xeroxed zine, I'd totally order mine.
Your linking of that xkcd comic (in the Writer-Readers group, Will Self thread) is so right on!
In that case, it's closer to the Second Chronicles. I'm still reading 'The Runes of Earth', which is the first of the 4-part 'Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant'. 'Fatal Revenant' is the second book of this set. It may be verbose, but it's still very good!
Wow! Of the 8 boks we share, 7 of them are by the same author!!! Have you picked up 'Fatal Revenant' yet?

Thanks for the six-word stories in WriterReaders! I particularly liked the mountain one -- now THAT's a long story! :) I'm also forwarding your zombie story to a fellow author who writes/edits some humorous zombie stories. If you're into zombies, check out Selina Rosen and her Bubba anthologies!
