About meBooks and libraries have always fascinated me. I love the mystery of reading- stepping into other worlds. Reading is an escape. Whether a treasured copy of Little House, Death in the Family, Jane Eyre, or as my husband use to say, the back of a shampoo bottle. Each is an adventure. My grandmother was a librarian. She put me to work at "her" library when I moved in with her at 9 yrs. old. After I grew up, had a couple of kids, and home-schooled for a bit, I found myself in need of a job. Years of make-ends-meet jobs found me yearning for a job that I wanted. I landed a part time job at a public library in circulation and I was thrilled. I relished each year I was there. When it became vital for me to find full-time work I found myself beginning a library assistant position at our local law school's library. And here I am. Right now I am working my masters in information and library science. My current dream is to work with old books somehow, some way....taking care of them, repairing them, cataloging them...and all the while snatching moments to read them. But I'd settle for a public librarian, academic librarian, or archive job!
