About meHello, my name is Anthony, and I'm a book addict.

I'm the father of two little girls (who share their own paid LibraryThing account, since they now have more than 200 books). I'm also a Geotechnical engineer, a capitalist, and a lapsed Catholic.

About my libraryI'm still working on tagging books. I've gotten most of the books in my house, except a few without ISBNs and some stragglers.

When I tag a book "Historical", it means that the original book was written before 1900. I don't actually own anything quite that old, just reprints.

I'm embarrased by the number of "to read" books I have. But that doesn't stop me from buying more books.

Argyriou--- Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to post your pointed review of Joan Burbick's "Gun Show Nation". I've added that book to my "Wish List" precisely for purposes of studying it as an example of anti-gun propaganda.

Burbick's other book, "Rodeo Queen: On The Circuit With America's Cowgirls" is actually quite interesting---to me, at least---perhaps because I know & like the hardy, independent-spirited sort of woman often found on farms & ranches . . . and even know a few actual "Rodeo Queens"!

Appropos Florence King, my wife & I regard her as a treasure; my favorite of her books is "With Charity Toward None: A Fond Look At Misanthropy", which is great fun.

Thanks again for your review; I'll look at your other reviews when I have more time.

All The Best,

Howdy :o)
Thank you for joining the Political Conservatives group. Welcome! Maybe we could form a TINY subgroup of Bay Area conservatives. :)
I don't actually have both, I just have them here because I use LT as my "books to read" list. Though they have different subtitles, I notice they have identical LoC numbers, so they're probably the same book.
