About my library...as a rough guide, figure that fifteen average sized books take up one foot of shelf. Keep in mind that paperback books weigh about seven and a half pounds per linear foot, hardcover books thirteen pounds, magazines twenty six pounds and reference works as much as thirty four pounds per linear foot.
