What I've done lately to try to stem the tide of grammatical misdeeds is to write an ultra-polite note to offender and send it having checked the make private box below. Some thank me, many say, "Oh I knew but was in a hurry," and some ignore. . .
Thank you, and I am sorry if I overreacted - I really have had a very crappy week (month, year, etc) and was in a bad mood. Usually I let things like that slide, even when they bother me.

My sister and I have almost managed to train our parents to not pester us about the job hunt (my sister is working, but would like a better job, not likely to happen soon in this economy sadly) but my mom always seems to bring it up right after I've gone through everything and failed again to find anything. It's maddening.
Hello :)

Its just nice to see someone talk about cricket on LT, lol, I'm not really into sports, but i do love my cricket :) & I'm not overly patriotic so we can still be friendly, if its a good game I'm still happy even if we Ausies dont win, in fact I got really sick of us winning all the time when we were on our streak not that long ago, & although its been annoying to see us play badly, at least cricket's been more interesting the last few years :) I dont tend to see much of what happens overseas tho, so feel free to send me updates - even if its just to brag, lol :)

Thanx for the offer on the bathroom, but all is included in the contract price, the only thing in the bathroom I've had to pay extra for are the decorative tiles. When I went to make my colour selections, all the plain floor & wall tiles are included in the builders range, but I'll have to pay extra for the border/trim (i'm not sure exactly what they're called) which I though was a bit odd - I wouldn't have thought people usually do their bathrooms in all plain tiles? I guess its just annother way for the builders to make money *shrug* - But thanx anyway :)
Bring the wife too. Busifer's bloke will be there, and there's a high chance my OtherHalf will be too, although she might not want to bookshop all day and might just meet us for dinner.
Cheadle Hulme's not far away! next time youa re 'home' let me know and we can meet for a beer somewhere. Stockport still has several really good pubs.

Are you going to make the GD meet in London 15th August?
Yep that's me. I'm x_fox everywhere on the net that allows _ where x is something relevant to remind me of my username. Are you on there too? going to the beer fest? Long trek if you are!
well it means exactly what you said to describe yourself: "sheltered". A manequin stuck in a display case. It basically just means that I don't go out much :))

And yes, the sound is typical of the band...and the lyrics too, they're almost never happy lyrics. Bright Eyes is a band for melancholic (depressing?) moments. Or at least was. Now the singer's gone all "New Age" on his last album and envisions himself as a prophet of sorts. Long story, long story.

A very famous ballad of their is called "First Day of My Life" and has a very nice video too, which you can see here if you're interested:

the thread was here: http://www.librarything.com/topic/64143

And no, you weren't rude. I replied to your question in said thread - message 43. Forget what they tell you about the cat, curiosity is a good thing :)
Hi,

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

I saw your posting in TGD -- I have that cup! Its elegance caught my eye last year, and a kind friend who was with me at the time bought one for me as a surprise gift a few months later.
Thanks for the tip on Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - I may well look into that one. I have ended up reading books that have been on the R&J booklist - it's the snob in me that doesn't want people to think that my choice of reading is determined by Richard Madely!!

Thanks again.
No problem, I wasn't mad, I just get really worked up about it. I have some strong opinions and I thought it would be better NOT to hi-jack the thread with a potentially nasty turn to Unions. In general, though not all inclusive, I have a very low opinion of unions and the crap they pull.
