About meMy favorite game as a kid was "bookstore". I'd lay all my books out on my bed and make my family pretend to buy them. My favorite game an an adult is "try and get me out of the bookstore in under an hour."

About my libraryPedestrian, I'm afraid. As a young woman I read and re-read everything Hemingway and Steinbeck. Robert Ruark, too. Interspersed with Hesse and Richard Brautigan. I still have those books but haven't read them in at least 20 years. Now I browse Publisher's Weekly and read what catches my eye. The latest was Olive Kittridge, by Elizabeth Strout. Heartbreaking characters, some as densely strong as oaks, others enviably humble, others just plain sad. My last "I couldn't put it down read" was The Road. Wow! As grim as a Kathe Kollwitz etching and just as masterful.
