About meAfter a stunning 24-year career as a corporate flak (I sure was stunned...), I "ran away and joined the circus" (according to mama), wearing corsets, farthingales and living in trailers as a professional renfest performer, instructor, dramaturge, and promotions director. In 2004, I retired to full-time reading and housekeeping for OctogenarianBestineMom.
About my libraryIt's known as "Bestine's Infamous Library of Sleazy Pop Fiction and Scholarly Suspect References" amongst my more literarily inclined friends. But guess where they all come first when they're jonesin' for a good read...
If you wonder about all the 4- and 5-star ratings: due to lack of space, I cull ruthlessly. Works tagged "slush pile" are on the way out to make way for works on my "wish list."

You really were a professional Renfester? Wow!

Those costumes are to die for! You're so lucky to have had those experiences. A friend and I started joking around after the RenFair last month that we should get a covered wagon and follow them when they leave, but school says otherwise. :/ Oh, well, they'll be back next year.

You are one cool chickie! Hey, do you still have your Poppy, the Adventures of a Fairy book? I'm searching for Rand Mc Nally 1931-1937 editions by Anne Perez-Guerra, illustrator Benton West. ISBN 1151716782.
'Also considering any condition copies of Richard and the Golden Horseshoe (Perez-Guerra) or good condition copies of Poppy- 1942+ with Betty Barclay as illustrator.
Thanks and best regards!

That's so cool you use comments. I've been looking for users that have lots of comments. It makes the browsing a lot more fun, and I can learn so much more about the books. At least that's my theory. Since there aren't many users who do that, even users with tons of reviews, I can't say that would happen for sure. This is good motivation to get my comments out there. I have endless stuff I'd like to do with my catalogue, and very limited time, so I keep putting this off.
