My challenge to you for this year is Death at La Fenice by Donna Leon, the first in the Commissario Brunetti series. I notice that you have quite in that series, but none apparently read. I love it, finding it (much more character and setting driven than many crime series, and more satisfying as I read through the series, and hope that by helping kickstart it, you might too (or at least decide one way or the other!).

Cheer, Will

Hi Beth

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I've been a bit caught out by having recently had a biggish clearout, which has led to a few books being left on LibraryThing, but which I don't actually have copies of. I'm afraid Slumdog Millionaire/Q and A is one of them. Could I ask you to choose another book for me please (if you are going through our 'common books', I think they're all OK now)?

In the meantime, my challenge to you is Sara Wheeler's "Magnetic North". I haven't read it myself yet, but I have really enjoyed her other travel books, including the one on Antarctica.

Regards, Will
