Groups1001 Books to read before you die, 50 Book Challenge

About meI just turned 40 in April and am starting to panic that I will never finish the books on my shelves. I love books and I purchase them compulsively (amazon is my curse), though I constantly make promises not to buy anymore. I also borrow books from the library, which puts me even farther behind in getting through my TBR.

I prefer contemporary literature, classics, and the occasional mystery. I don't read much nonfiction other than history and literary crticism, though I do own quite a few nonfiction works as well.

About my libraryMy virtual library consists of all the books I own. I don't list borrowed books here, since it makes it easier when I want to know if I own a particular book (yes, I am guilty of not remembering all 1500 titles).

I still need to work on my tags, reviews, etc.

Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Paris Trout, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Antonia, my name is Michael, I just turned 61 last July and realize the books I want to read keeps getting larger and larger. It seems that a book I just read will open my eyes to a number of other books I should read. My goal is to read all of Proust, I haven't read the first 3 volumes. I just found out about this web site so I am still learning the ropes. But is fun to discover so many people that love to read. Especially after hearing news stories that 1/4 of the population doesn't read anything. Best wishes
and happy reading! My drug of choice are books
P.S I'm LancastrianNomad on the Beeb board!
Hi there. LizzySiddal from Palimpsest (and LT) here. Feel free to browse my library anytime!
Antonia,
What a beautiful name !!
This is Maggie/Jeannie......it is a long story but Maggie is my middle name. I use it often to avoid confusion when it comes to online stuff.
I am very impressed with your library. I thought I had an impressive number of books....you have me beat :>)

I am off to look through your shelves a bit.

By the way, my tags are terrible, I was in such a rush to get my books listed that I really messed them up. A project for some rainy day weather.
