About meReading is, arguably, my biggest passion. I love to write, do it all the time. It is like a drug for me. Music is big in my life, I love rock of all kinds. I often travel around, looking at used book stores. I love buying cheesy, sub-par horror novels from the eighties, and first edition fantasy novels.

About my libraryI'm a big horror junkie, who likes to add a couple fantasy and sci-fi novels to spice up my life. I'm a sucker for the classics, too. Catcher in The Rye, Moby-Dick, East of Eden. They don't make 'em like that anymore. But horror is my number one genre, and it never gets old.

Hi Jesse. In truth, my #1 bit of advice is the same advice other writers give: write every day and read every day. It takes that, along with a lot of patience. I've got a few other pieces of random advice here: http://www.briankeene.com/ Scroll down till you see CATEGORIES on the right hand sidebar. Then click and select 'Advice For Writers'. Hope that helps!
Noticed you liked Catcher in the Rye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a disturbed adolescent suffering from mental illness. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm currently out of physical copies). If you're interested, send me your e-mail address (mine is mail@christophertusa.com), and I'll send you the e-book. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Hi Bobby. Thanks for the good words. I really appreciate it. And thanks for the invite, as well. I'll be happy to join, although, fair warning, I don't know how often I'll be able to participate. Cool?
Hi Bobby--sure, I'd love to join. Sounds like fun! :)
I'd love to. There's nothing like a halloween spent on the pub at the corner overlooking the churchyard.
Thanks so much for the invite - looking forward to being a member!
Thanks for the group invite, looks like fun!!! Halloween is easily my favorite holiday!
Hey, thanks for the invite. I'm looking forward to seeing what other Halloween themed reading is out there.
Thanks! I'll try him again. I've been wanting to because my local book store has a lot of cheap hardcovers, but The Return was just so bad I didn't want to waste my time if they were all that way. So thanks for the recommendations I'll check them out.
I just saw a post of yours (from like Dec), so it's been awhile and you might not remembers so I'll refresh your memory. The blog was talking about Joe Hill and you said he was the best since Bentley Little, which brings me to my next comment. (Which I hope doesn't come off as patronizing because I'm not intending it to be). I read one book by Little, I think....The Return??, I've been debating on whether or not to give him a second chance because of this novel. I found it atrocious! So what's your reccomendation, are all of his books like this or did I pick the wrong one? Thanks!
thanks!
