My challenge to you is 'Monster Love' by Carol Topolski. It is a difficult book to read due to the subject matter but it is one I found compelling. Hope this is ok, if not let me know and I will choose something else.

Your my first person I'm picking for in the challenge and the book I'm picking for you is The Girls by Lori Lansens. I read this back in 2007 and thought it was fantastic so I'd really love to see a review from you on this one.
Hope you enjoy it and thanks for everything, you really are a sweetie and I consider you a friend now not a book acquaintance.

You are being organised aren't you?! It's one that has intrigued me for a while, but needed this sort of nudge to get round to it, so thanks for the challenge!
Goaded into action by all your activity, my challenge to you is "Bleak House". Comfortably one of my top 5 all-time reads, I hope you get even half the enjoyment I did out of it. And if you haven't watched the recent BBC series,do treat yourself to it afterwards, as it's one of the Beeb's best efforts at putting book to screen. Enjoy!

I went to see Mark Billingham last night at West Brom and he was brilliant. He was there with two other authors, Andrew Taylor and Martyn Waites who were both good too. Did meant to ask you id you wnet to see Carolyn Flynn and how did it go. Did think about you as I was sailing away on the Titanic, that was good too !

Great review on "A Fine Balance." Isn't it a fantastic book? I was hooked from the first sentence and could NOT put it down. So compelling, so gut wrenching ....the characters so well drawn they were like my friends I came to care about. Loved it! Glad you enjoyed it, as well. We will most certainly have to read another book by Rohinton Mistry. :) "See" you soon ....take care.

Not sure if you are interested but Mark Billingham will be at West Bromwich central library on Tuesday 28th September. If so you need to phone the library and reserve a place then pay on the door ( £5). More details on Mark Billinghams own web site.

Just read your review on Dracula. Not what I expected from such a classic. I am still keeping mine for Halloween.
I went to our book group last night and we have been invited to an author event at kingswinford Library, 22nd September. Carolyn Flynn is giving a talk and we have just discussed her book What Was Lost. I can't make it as I am going to see Quarry Bank Operatic Society's musical Titanic. One of my fellow members is going to pick me up a book with a signature if available.
Have a good bank holiday and happy reading

Noticed you are reading Dracula. I have this on my TBR and have been keeping it for my Halloween reads. I have always been put off reading this due to the old Hammer films with Christopher Lee. I shall look forward to reading your review of this book. We had a day trip recently to Whitby which as you know is Dracula country which was great !
Hope you enjoy the book

Thanks for the reply. Hope you enjoy the book group at the library. I attend Sedgley. I used to go to the morning group but changed to the new evening one (Thursdays) fits in better with work. Have only just discovered Libraything and think it is a fab site. I swap my unwanted books on www.readitswapit.co.uk and track their journey using bookcrossing. Swapping books is great fun.

We have just got a new one and are back in the e-world. Could I ask you to just look over my library and choose a different book for me please as I hadn't tagged them as unread before the breakdown! I have done now and have found that now I'm back online people have chosen books for me that I've read. My fault I know and I must apologise, hope it's not too much of an inconvenience. I have picked up on you through your review of Margaret Atwoods's 'The Robber Bride'(like most Librythingers we have a lot of current fiction in common) this led me to your other reviews and i wanted to tell you I fully agree with your comments on the superiority of 'Lucky' by Margaret Seabold. It struck me as a particularly stunningly honest recount of something quite awful to happen to a young girl. Beyond her ordeal, I was left with a pretty bad mood considering the role of the American legal system in such cases and its determination to win out at any cost. This skewering of where human concern should reach out to help is depressing, as time passes we should be raising our conciousness and to be fair we have, but there is a way to go yet.
best regards,
Freddy.
