About me My name is Lisa, I live in rural southern Indiana where I own a small printing and graphic design company called Brilliant Graphics, we design and print just about anything, we do full color digital and 1 to 3 color offset printing, we'd love to quote on your next project! Contact me at Brilliantgraphics@gmail.com we have competitive rates, unbeatable customer service and high quality standards. We ship anywhere in the US, so take advantage of our lower midwest rates!
My reading interests are fairly broad, I love pretty much all kinds of books, not really into mysteries and romance but I'm game for pretty much anything else. Lately my reading has been classics and non-fiction books about organic gardening, living a greener life and environmental management. I'm also reading a palmistry book and learning how to read palms :-) Just for the fun of it, I love knowing how to do oddball things, it makes me the life of the party.. okay, I am pretty much a hermit, so I don't really go to too many parties but I am sure if I did and I knew how to read palms, I would be the life of the party..

My husband Tim and I will have been together for 20 years in May. We live in out in the country and have a lot of wildlife in our backyard, that we enjoy watching and feeding.. We are the proud parents of 7 cats - Otis 19, Carl 10, Bronson 8, Matilda 6, Huckleberry 6, Bill 3 & Putty (shown in my profile photo) who lived in our barn for 3 years before becoming a spoiled inside kitty and we have no idea how old he is..

Other than reading, I enjoy shopping for books at library sales, thrift shops & yard sales. I enjoy the outdoors, sitting on my porch reading and watching the birds and wildlife. I have a lot of hobbies and interests including writing, gardening, photography and decorating...

About my library All of the books on my shelf are either in my current TBR (to be read) or I have already read them and either released them or kept them on my PC. I do not keep my wishlist on librarything, it would get too confusing.. I love being able to look up a book and see if I have it or not.. When you have this many books, it's hard not to end up with duplicates.

Thanks for your kind comment. I hope you enjoy the rest of the journey in SLIVER OF TRUTH. My next novel BLACK OUT will be coming out in May, 2008. So, I will keep you posted as the date gets closer.

All the best,
L
Hi Lisa! Thanks for being my LibraryThing friend. It's nice to meet you.

Lisa :)
Thanks for your friendship and for having my book listed in your library. I look forward to checking out your other books and hope you enjoy mine.
Hey there! I thought I would wander on over and drool at your library for awhile. :o)~ Hows it shaking? I am planning on pulling some stuff out of storage soon! They have been in there so long that I no longer know what I have in storage!!!

Uh...by stuff I mean books. The only stuff that really matters!

Nichole
Hi Lisa,
I'm in LT too...its a neat place. I share 36 books with you so far.
I forgot to tell you, I also read "Into the Forest" - Jean Heglund, and really enjoyed it.

Happy Reading!
Your so awesome! Thank you for all the recommendations and thank you even more for I shall be adding from your recommendations to my TBR pile!! Hubby will be pissed but to bad so sad! :-) I think for me, the Meyers books were a perfect place for me to get started with this genre. I am loving it, and being YA, it's like baby steps for me so to speak! Have you read any of them? I am wondering if you'd like them cause they are majorly swooney romantic. No sex but very head over heals I love your my life, etc., that I am sucked into and can't put the damn books down!! Plus them being centered in Forks which is my home town is a major draw for me as well.

Thanks again Lisa, you rock! Hope you have an awesome holiday weekend. I shall be reading book 2 in Meyer series.

Jacki
Hi Lisa,

I have a quick question for you. I am reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer and LOVING IT. I know you like vampire books as well (this is my first vampire story). Was wondering if you could recommend any other authors for me to try in this genre? Vampire romance.

Thanks & hope your having an awesome day!

Jacki
Hi Lisa!

You have me SO ADDICTED to this site!! {laughing}. I updated some more today and now we have 13 in common - whoo-hoo. How far along are you on updating ALL your books girl? :-) I have about 350 more to go.

Well, I suppose I do really need to "work" now. :-)

Jacki
We share over 200 of the same books. I have added you to my interesting libraries list. Hope you don't mind! Have a great weekend.
Hey writing you the note was magic! I got into my yahoo account a few hours later!! Yeah! Now I am trying to catch up with all my emails. :o) Will write you soon, but I leave for North Carolina on Friday and wont have email access while I am away. So hopefully a really long email when I come back. (I am supposed to be cleaning my house so its clean for my cat-sitters and me when I come home!) Take Care! N
Hey there! Hope everything is going well for you. I am STILL locked out of my yahoo account! It is so frustrating. It has been almost two months and yahoo is giving me the run around. You should message me on pbs if you want to get a hold of me. Although I am hoping that this gets fixed soon. My emails are getting stronger worded and I have decided to email them every single day asking for the status until I can get in.

In any case...Dale and I were at Barnes and Noble and guess what I bought??? The NEW Kim Harrison. In brand spanking hardback. I couldnt resist. At 30% off it wasnt any more expensive then it would have been on Amazon, so I snatched it up. I leave for North Carolina on Friday and needed something really delicious to take with me. :o) I am sooo looking forward to it! I also bought Definitly Dead...the new Sookie book. Its in paper so you might have read it. In any case, some good reading for my vacation!

Take Care...just wanted you to know that things are good and I am still alive and kicking!

Hi Lisa,

Nice list of books you have. Aww the baby deer is so adorable, what a nice photo. I'm still logging in books slowly but surely, little by litte. Aren't you glad that Sunday is a holiday and no Nascar? LOL.

Glad I looked up your profile and catalog, we'll see how many books I end up listing. I can get lost on this site for hours when I should have my nose stuck in a book lol.

Lisa
Just wanted to pop in and say hi, Lisa. Hope things with you are going well! I haven't forgotten our buddy read of Remains of the Day!
Hey Lisa,

I added a few more books today so we might have a few more in common.
Dear chick-lit reader,

I’m a belgian university student that loves chick-lit. Would you like to help me with my thesis and write to me why you (personally) like reading chick-lit? What is it about chick-lit that appeals to you? What are your favourite books and why? Your help would mean a lot to me!

Best wishes,

Ester Wellens

Hey Lisa! :) I'm still entering the books that I've read and traded away over the past couple of years, so we'll probably have at least a few more in common by the time I'm done. I'm trying to get this arranged so I can use it to see what I've read, what's on the TBR, what I liked and didn't, etc. Good to be here! Cheryl
Hi, Lisa! I thought I'd stop in before I head to bed for a little reading time. I'm enjoying visiting everyone's library. Have a great night and a good day tomorrow!
hi lisa. i did go back and pick up blessed are the cheesemakers but i havent read it yet! and it is my first time reading the clan of the cave bear. i also own the mammoth hunters and the plains of passage but haven't read them either. picked those two up at a library book sale for 10 cents each. i think i am missing the second one of the series though. so many books, so little time!
you know, i just passed up a 3.00 copy of blessed are the cheesemakers at booksamillion. i think i may have to go back in get it now. :) thanks for the advice!
we have so much in common that i just had to say hello and kudos! i also love literary fiction, library book sales, living in the country, writing and photography as well. not to mention, we have right at 200 books in common! happy reading!
Hey, girl! We hit the 200 mark!!
Lisa, if you want to do Remains of the Day soon, let me know. I'm reading one book for a group right now, but after that, I should have some breathing room. I'd love to have a quick read (so I would assume, anyway, based on the length) before jumping into something else very long.
I am only half way through A Fistful of Charms. I ended up not feeling very well last night and so had a hard time focusing on reading. So far I am enjoying it. Although it's taking place so far in another state (Michigan) which is disappointing because I really like the Hollows. But just wait till you see what happens to Jenks!!!!
I do remember hearing that you didn't much care for historical fiction. I know most people don't! Haha- but I have always loved history. I don't really know why. It has just always fascinated me- but I agree, it's the people that are really more interesting. They're the ones who make history, after all :-)

I would love to do a buddy read of The Remains of the Day with you! It is a pretty short book, I think. I don't actually know for sure when we can do it. I just started a very long book, and then I have a book for a group to read. But soon- I promise!
Thanks for the story, Lisa- it was really interesting. The 50s and 60s were a really fascinating period in American history. Actually, most decades of history in almost any nation's history are pretty fascinating, in some form or other. At least to me, so I guess that's why I love historical fiction :-) I plan to read The Remains of the Day some time soon. Have you already read it or not yet?
Hey there! I am going to have to check out that website that you were talking about. It sounds right up my alley. I have read the Hitchiker's Guide. The first one. It was really good, I think that you would like it Lisa.

Guess what book I am starting today? A Fistful of Charms by Kim Harrison. I was going to order it from Amazon and then decided that I just couldnt wait! So, I went out and bought it! Last I heard, you hadnt started it yet. So I will let you know what I think!!
Yes, actually I had heard about Arthur Miller doing that for The Crucible, but not that the actors were black-listed because of it. I just recently saw the movie Good Night, and Good Luck which centers around Macarthy and that era of America. Very interesting, if you're into that sort of stuff!
Will you look at that? We are at 193 now!! We are definitly going to need to coordinate a buddy read one of these days!!
Looking good, Lisa! You sure have entered a ton of books this weekend! We now share 174! That is so cool. :o)
Hey Lisa! I had to wander by and check out how things are going in your library! We now share 78 books. Some of which I was surprised to see! And some I was laughing at because I know that you sent me the copies that I have! Just wait till I get you your LKH's back. Then we will have tons more in common! I have been entering books pretty intensely for about a week. I am finally starting to see the end of the tunnel! I have three boxes left here at the house. Then a huge stack on top of one of the bookshelves, I cant quite reach. This isnt even talking about the boxes and boxes of books that I have stored at my parents house! I have discovered some real treasures! And some junk. lol. I need to consider a weeding next, I think. Lots of duplicates of course. What surprised me was not that I had duplicates...but what I had that was a duplicate. A few books I thought...I bought this twice? lol. I also discovered in this digging around of my library that I am a much worse housekeeper then I realized. And I knew I was bad before! All the books I have listed are ones in my actual personal library. I havent listed any that I have on pbs...or the huge stack that I am waiting on putting on pbs. I know I put some on here that I could probably get rid of. But I am going to worry about pulling the weeds later. I am also not planning on putting on books that I dont own...ones that I have read but no longer have, etc. I just want to use this to catalog the actual books in the library. If I get rid of one...I will delete it. I will just get too confused if I put on books that I dont have.

Well...I think this is probably enough for now. :o)
Well, as you keep entering books, we get more in common :-) And most of them aren't chick lit, so I think you're safe! I just went to some used bookstores today and got some more books. I actually picked up a couple of classics, so I feel that justifies the entire expenditure since those books should make me smarter! I finished up American Gods last night- I really enjoyed it, though I don't think I understood many of the levels it was written on. It got slightly convoluted, I think, but overall, it was a great read.
Have you read The Glass Castle, Lisa? I see we both share that one, too. I have it, but haven't cracked it open quite yet. I've heard so much about it. We also share at least book 1 of His Dark Materials. That series I've also heard SO much about. But I have made myself a rule that I should finish any current fantasy series I have outstanding before starting on a new one :-)
Yes, I really enjoyed Never Let Me Go. I have really enjoyed most of the books I've read so far this year- there are so many good books in the world :-)

I don't usually read too much chick lit- but Bridget Jones is based on Pride and Prejudice! And Babyville I got for my sister. I haven't actually read it yet. I don't know if I will. Maybe if she tells me that it's very, very good!
Hey. :o)I remembered that you said that you were on this site and had to look you up! I am having a blast getting all my books listed...but what work! I am hoping this helps me manage the TBR a bit better...(ha ha) I see that we share 18 books! lol. Let me know when you are done listing and I will make sure to send you the two or three boxes of books that I have for you...;o)~ They have been sitting around here forever!
