Hi - Welcome back to LT! Yeah, the Rumsfeld book is slow-going at this point. Its a hard read, partially because of the subject matter, partially because of the book's organization (which I am still trying to figure out - its not quite chronological, which is really confusing), and partially because its a mess of names that are hard to keep track of. I will probably try to finish it because I hate leaving a book unfinished, especially when I've gotten more than halfway through it.
Thanks for asking, but no I haven't had much luck with the maps. Many of the books I have on the Middle East have maps regarding the specific time period the book is focused on only. For example, "Paris 1919" has a snap shot of the "Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916" and the new borders due to the Treaty of Sevres (1920). I was hoping to find an atlas of the Middle East that would progress step by step. Of course, given the length of time and the constant changes that would be a lot of steps!
