About meI'm the extremely happy author of the book SWEEPING UP GLASS, which will be out August 4, 2009. The book's main character, Olivia Cross, is mostly me.

When I'm not writing, or reading, I dig, weed and water, root cuttings, lay stone, prune and rake. I'm up to my wrists in the earth -- my nails are a wreck.
My second novel, THE COFFIN MAKER, will be available in the summer of 2010. I married into, and birthed, a family of carpenters, so creating a woman who builds coffins in a barn in the back of beyond was not hard. The issues that arise in this book are my own.
Thought: I love talking with people whom I love, about things that matter.

About my libraryI read everything that passes through my hands, but my favorites are borne of the characters the writers created --Stephen White's Alan Gregory, Diane Mott Davidson's Goldy Schultz. I cherish the three books written by Wally Lamb, and some of Carl Hiasson's. I'm crazy about the Jefferson Bass bone farm books. Mysteries must possess power and depth, romances must go a long way to please me, and I have never outgrown Christopher Robin and friends, but not the animated version. MUST be read to your children and grandchildren at bedtime, and with an English accent.
