I have just finished writing a historical novel of the Civil War in Indian Territory told from the perspective of a Creek mixed-blood Confederate officer. The book is called 'The Confederate War Bonnet' and will be published next month. The title character is partly based on Creek Confederate Captain George Grayson, partly on my own family and partly on pure fiction. I have also recently written an article on the same subject for Civil War Historian magazine.
I'm an Oklahoman of Creek descent, although I am not on the rolls. I would be interested in your studies of the Creek Nation. I am currently working on another fiction about the lighthorsemen in the 1880's and 1890's.
