About meIn a nutshell...
I'm a student at the University of Miami, Go CANES! majoring in English Creative Writing. I spend most of my time napping, loving my doggie AlCapone and watching some tube.

About my libraryMy library consists of basically 3 things...
1) books I need for school
2) books I feel I will die if I don't have
3) and books that seem to grow legs and follow me home Piped Piper style.

You still out there? I feel like I've kinda hijacked the whole SK flavor of the month thing.

I really liked the book, and it definitely picks up in the end. Now, my mom, who is another big Stephen King fan, despised it, and for reasons that I can totally agree with: all Lisey ever talks about is Scot, Scott, Scott (I think that's his name!) and SK kind of makes her seem like she just wasn't a real person until her wonderful husband came along (who bears a suspicious resemblance to SK himself, I think). My mom also hated the slang, which I just ignored.
But once you start getting into the horror/fantastical alternate reality, the setting itself is worth overlooking the goofiness. It's got a slow plot, but fight through it! It's worth it!
So what's your favorite of his books? I'm a huge Dark Tower junkie, myself, but all of his books have something special that makes them my "favorites". Except for Needful Things and Duma Key. I just can't make myself like those two.
