About meA bibliophile of the first water, books have been my dearest friends and companions for as many years as I can remember. For the last few years I had almost exclusively been escaping into fiction, but have now begun to add intreguing nonfiction titles into the mix again.
I have an enduring love for good fantasty, science fiction and the occasional romance (especially within the above two genres) which I suspect will never leave me. Currently my nonfiction interests are tending towards popular science, Zen and Taoist writings.
About my libraryRather than catalogue my rambling hodgepodge of a library I've decided to add books as I read them instead. I feel as if it gives a truer picture of my current interests than some of the dusty roads less travelled on my shelves and I'm curious to look back on this in future and trace the path of my interests.

Rating system ('alf inched from Parelle)
1 star: Utter rubbish or otherwise distasteful, hopefully these will be few and far between.
2 stars: Once was good enough, wouldn't reread it again except when bored... very bored.
3 stars: A good book, the mainstay of a library.
4 stars: Well written or particularly enjoyable book, slated for frequent re-reads.
5 stars: A Much Beloved favourite, or otherwise of exceptional quality.

That's agreat accolade you've given my book! I hope my next one won't disappoint you -it's totally different and probably a bit more conventional.

I just wanted to let you know that I was delighted to see you'd given my book
5 stars. I've only recently joined Librarything - a wonderful organisation!
I'm still finding my way round it.
