About my libraryBasically, books I've read or re-read since July 2007, although I go through every once in a while and delete the ones I can barely remember. Two and half stars equals "reasonably entertaining or educational, but nothing special," with ratings going up and down from there (mostly up, since I rarely finish a book that doesn't make this standard).

About your "Freedomnomics" review. You said that you didn't believe that Lott was really persecuted for not being a bleeding heart liberal. The reality is that the vast majority of economists describe themselves as democrats and liberals. A study in the Southern Economic Journal found that "71 percent of American economists believe the distribution of income in the US should be more equal, and 81 percent feel that the redistribution of income is a legitimate role for government." In terms of political orientation 63% identified as progressive and less than 20% as conservative/libertarian with registered Democrats outnumbering registered Republicans 2.5 to 1
