How wonderful! How did your mother like the book? I was a geography major in college with a geology minor and had some Arctic Geography classes, which were so fascinating. I'm kicking myself for not traveling to the Arctic before global warming started to claim the ice.

I have to contact all the other people who own "Kabloona", my favorite book. How did you come across your copy? I found mine in the bookstore at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee around 1980/81. It's been my prized book possession since.
