Well, we're supposed to have snow here in Chicago tomorrow, so I can completely sympathize with your desire for spring!
I just read all of your reviews. Very fine work!
Have not spent much time on Librarything but am waiting HVAC repair guy and was reviewing your ratings and noticed you had read J.H. Kunslter's World Made by Hand. Have not read his books but enjoy his weekly blog. He is excessively gloomy but love his use of language. I like the way he talks. (Slingblade, B.B. Thornton). H.S. Thompson influence.
I just read your review of March and must say "hurrah!". I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who was irritated by Brooks' distortions of Alcott's characters. A shame, really, because the idea was an interesting one and I have enjoyed her other books, but her March family was not the one I know and love.
Nan,

Just finished A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan and can recommend it. Have a look if it is convenient. Carol read it before Christmas and has been ragging on me to have a look since. I appreciate her enthusiasm and persistence. Hope all is well with you and yrs.
Hah! We are now up to 625 in common! Keep entering those books! and safe travels home.
Ann, I spent a whole year entering since most of my books are old, as in pre-ISBNs. I'm about to finish Quite Ugly One Morning thanks to Susan and her friends. (I'm interested to see whether you share her Brookmyre fascination. Apparently not.) Once I got through the really disgusting murder, I have laughed and enjoyed it tremendously.
Are you interested in any of the groups here yet? I spend way too much time cruising through threads and commenting - probably the same stuff over and over. I do believe I need to read more!
Peggy
Welcome from me too! Ms. Kokipy is my #1 Books in Common person, so we've been talking here almost since I joined. I see that you and I have a pretty fair number too.
I hope this place is as much fun for you as it has been for me!

My Brothers Keeper was the creepy one? did you know it was based on a real situation that happened in NYC not too long before it was written?
I did not put my childrens' books into the data base. I need to do that, and when i do we'll have more in common. I see [the Gammage Cup] in your random list. I've got one too. I can't get the girls to read it though.
ps, I sent you a friend request. I'll be yours if you'll be mine.
Well, hi there! Welcome. You'll have to show me those Spectrums when next I am down your way.
You'll probably want to slow down with entering books so as to put some tags in, so that you can, for example, identify all of the English history books in your library. I have done it both ways and have found that it is easier to do it as you go than to go back later and enter them in. I see we are up to 553 in common. My guess is that number will increase before you are done :).
