Hi,

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

I just searched your library for books to put on my christmas list...If on a winter's night a traveler...the weetzie bat stories (I read a raving review of these elsewhere (ok, in the Believer) and I'm kind of excited about it)...thanks
That's when my head weighed 40 pounds. It's sexy, no?
There is something special just for you and Jason on my profile page.
Oh, man. That link doesn't even work. It was just a link so you could watch Ghostrider online. Anyway.

This is a link I think you will really want to follow. I'm leaving this comment here because I don't have to log in to anything to do it. And it relates to comic books that you love and movies that you loathe. Feel free to delete it.
i used to be totally in love with clive barker. the copy i had of the thief of always had a picture of him from when he was an adorable tween on the back cover inside. i was so sure that if we were the same age we would fall in love and i would marry him and he could tell me stories all the time.
i thought i left you a comment, but it is not there. what's up librarything?
we share ten books, but i feel like we share so much more than that in reality. i love you.
FYI: I found out that you have a book stalker. Her name begins with a C and rhymes with Gary. Sometimes I just cut to the chase and call her Gary. Gary, are you reading this? Come out of hiding, Gary.
I started Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and I don't hate it. I was 100% positive that I would hate everything about it, but I was wrong...Except for the repeated use of "heavy boots"--which annoys me.
I know you really like this book so I thought I'd comment on the fact that I'm reading it. But this may also dissapoint you because it means Watership and No One Belongs Here More than You have been momentarily sidelined.
Of course you'd like Mysteries of Pittsburgh. It's awesome. It's one of my favorites. I was in love with the female character, Phlox, for the longest time. I probably still am. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a bigger crush on a literary character. I've read it a bunch of times and I'll read it again. It's like comfort food in book form. Plus, it's fast. You could probably finish it in two days. Then when the movie comes out--it's already filmed and in post-production--you can go see it and hate the fact that Phlox is played by Mena Suvari. You hate Mena Suvari and are not in love with her in the least. So please, read it before Mena ruins everything for you.
One of your tags is "written entirely in second person"?! How often are you gonna need to use that one?
Also. You have to read Drown by Junot Diaz. The stories are Amazing. Some of the most honest, touching-but-not-sentimental stories I've ever read.
Yeah, we're like friends times 4.
Your library keeps growing. I like your rating tag system. I haven't catalogued any opinions, I might have to do that too. I read today someone saying that places like LibraryThing and Goodreads are helping to keep literature alive and relevant...personal connection through discussion of literature is as important as the literature itself, they said. So by LibraryThing-ing you might just be saving literature for the human race, one Swampthing volume at a time. Well done.
