Somebody mentioned to me recently the novel Roma by Steven Saylor. They said it had a similar feel to Rutherfurd's stuff but it deals with ancient Rome.

I haven't read any of those you mention. Just the above two: Sarum and The Forest. Do you know of any other authors who are similar to Rutherfurd?

Nice to find other fans of Edward Rutherfurd. I've read Sarum and The Forest. I enoyed the first half of Sarum probably better than the last half. Which ones of Rutherfurd have you read?

Oh, and of course, you have to love Tolkien.
