Hi, ebba. I've started reading the sequel to Doris lessings first : perfect marriage. I do like the character of martha it is what endears me to finding out about her and i also learn so much from doris Lessings social observations
happy reading
Hi, Ebba. I misread your message, so I didn't reply when I got Little Bee. I've finsihed it now, and I really liked it. The story was well told, and even after finding out what happened on the beach, I was still surprised by what really happened with the suicide. I loved the little boy "Batman". The people in the book seemed very real.

Did you read his earlier book Incendiary? It didn't intrigue me when it came out, but after having read Little Bee, I might give it a try.
Hi , my names janine, I think your books look amazingly interesting.

x I'm new and I've only added one book to my list so I have lots of catching up to make with regards to my reading choice
I finally got and read, and reviewed [Little Bee]. How did you like it? I thought it was 5/5, but I am so getting tired of depressing stories! Is the world truly so bad everywhere you look? I 'm happy to be starting a lighter slightly frivolous story, {the Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie].
I see you've got [Red Dog, Red Dog]. Let me know what you think of it.
Hi Ebba....
by courier! I wonder how long I'll have to wait. In the meantime, I'm loving [the Help].

Hi Ebba
I am so excited about getting Little Bee. I actually have it reserved at the library, too. I wonder which one will come in first...I have decided not to cancel the reservation. Call it a contest.
First book will be knocked off Canada Reads today.
I loved Bloodletting..., re-read it recently.
Hi Ebba
I posted a message to you earlier today, but it seems things were not working then. We sure do have a lot of books in common!
Yes, I do intend to read the Canada Reads books again this year. I have already read 3 of them...see my post on the discussion site.
I noticed that you have read Ten Thousand Lovers. May I recommend her new book, [Your Sad Eyes and Unforgettable Mouth]. I just finished it and enjoyed it very much. Of course I was on holiday at the time and don't you find that books read on a holiday are usually memorable?
Hi Ebba,
I'm new to LibraryThing and noticed you have Glass Voices in your library - I'm currently reading it for review on my blog. So far a good read!

Hi Ebba,

Welcome to LT and thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries!

I've read Not Wanted on the Voyage twice (maybe three times?). I love Timothy Findley. I've ordered the other books and am anxious to read them. Like you said, I think Icefields sounds very interesting. And I've always meant to read something by Mavis Gallant.
Ebba, I just clicked on something inviting you to be my "friend" on LT. I don't know what that means and was trying to find out, not to actually use it before I knew! But, we seem to have similar tastes, so I would be honoured to be your LT friend.

p.s. I have "Half a Life" by V.S. Naipaul on my TBR pile...have you read it?
Ebba, it looks like you are reading the "Canada Reads" books. I've finished them and am looking forward to the debates. I have a definite favourite -- [Song of Kahunsha]. What's yours?
