About meSchools out for summer...well almost.
I grew up partly on a sailboat and lived all over...living ferally when we weren't on the boat. We were in the states last year doing a road trip in a knackered old v-dub combi...where I met my current lover in Charlottesville! We're erotic kamakasizes whose goal is to root out sexual monogamy...Guattari lives!
I like movies but I hate American TV cuz of the commercials - sitcoms are pathetic bourgeois morality plays except Seinfeld which is refreshingly nihilistic. I don't own a cell phone (except a prepaid crapper for emergencies) cuz its a dog leash and I'm not a dog. I also like to draw, write, and photograph.
The most shocking thing I found about the states is all the religious zealots. Some of these cargo cult christists actually have signs in their yards saying 'Jesus Saves'. I met a few of these psychotic morons at Haulover beach in Florida. They were passing around Christian comic books...yeah...like I'm going to change my life after reading a comic book. Haulover is a nude beach and I told them I would read their 'book' if they took off their clothes...Paul said he became all to save some...but they didn't bite...too uptight. It was great fun. I felt like an anthropologist studying primitive natives in their natural habitat. Apparently these spittle droolers secretly reside amongst us waiting for John Frum to return.
I even encountered some spittle drooling sub-geniuses here on Library Thing - who actually think the bible was inspired by god - there was a Noah's flood - you know the type - when attempting to discuss a book I read which none of them actually read but were all too willing to discuss from their puerile perspective - but yet never having actually read because it would challenge their childish worldview - not to mention challenge the limits of their intellect - it's a mistake I'll never make again - these are the same frightened animals who vote for the Bushes, Palins, Howards and Blairs, etc of the world and wants to bomb everyone who disagrees with them - Christians think they suffer for their faith in America - yeah this is what I learned in bigoted America.
Burning Man was cool - at least something of the 60s still lives in America - perhaps there is hope. You do have UVA - the first secular university in the Western world and Jefferson - your first and last atheist president - and you did legalize recreational use of marijauna in two states and gay marriage in a few others...and you did elect a bi-racial MAN...good on ya...let's see if you have what it takes to elect a woman.
Now I'm reading for a Literae Humaniores degree at Oxford. I was accepted at Harvard (I only applied because my SO insisted), but who wants to go to a pretend Oxford when you can go to the real thing...America is Disney World...pretend everything. With a few notable exceptions, undergraduate education in the states is a joke. Most of the morons that matriculate in these schools are only interested in getting a job not an education. Look at the complaints about having difficulty reading Jonathan Israel's book Revolutionary Ideas.
So I am bigoted...so what? My life is all about reading and f*cking - nuf said. If you are reading this and reacting negatively, thank god filth like you no longer predominate - the greatest accomplishment of mankind is atheism. God is an orgasm. That is what Terisa of Avila discovered: 'Christ has no body but yours.' Who are we to disagree?
About my libraryMy SO set me up with this LibraryThing. I mainly post under his name but sometimes here. He used to be a prof at UVA until he met me - he mainly studies me now :-).
My ratings are 3 or above because I don't waste time on books that suck - except when its for school...gag. My SO has been known to buy second copies of books because of a particularly luscious binding or paper - he's infectious that way - the senses are where it's at!
F*ck U America...ha ha
