About my libraryMy library mostly contains books I've read since November 2007. I have not entered books I own but have not read yet (they're waiting patiently for their turn and only get cranky with me when I buy more), books on my TBR list, or books I have read but do not own. Books I own and have read are special to me so I feel they belong here just by themselves. The only exception to this is books tagged "999 Challenge", which I may enter as I'm reading them but before I've finished.

Hi,

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi Elee

How's it going?
It's been really hot here in Sydney (thank God for a bit of rain last night)
What have you been reading lately?
I've got a few books going at the moment, I can't seem to stick to just 1 lately (a little bit restless) but I'm really enjoying the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society. Really quite entertaining.
That's so cool Elee! Maybe if you find it, you could take a picture for me? I don't know if I'll recognize it, but it would be interesting if I did and it's the same book, wouldn't it?! Good luck in your search!!!
Ahoy me Hearty!

The “Pirate Riddles of the Seven Seas” and “Who Wants to Be a Buccaneer?” Quizzes start this Sunday 2nd November at 8.00pm (GMT).

Be sure to check in every day if you want to win at:

Thank you for the discussion about Margaret Atwood. I am now having a hard time waiting until January to begin, but I have a stack of books to keep me happy until then and it's good self-discipline. Are you planning on reviewing the books you read for the 999 Challenge?
I've narrowed down my Margaret Atwood entry to "Oryx and Crake" or "Wilderness Tips", which I read so long ago as to be able to read it as a new book. Of course, I may read both if I can't come up with more Canadians!

I know you have your nine for gothic, but "The Woman in White" or "The Moonstone" by Wilkie Collins would fit well...also, Susan Hill's "The Woman in Black" is a more recent gothic. That topic is so evocative--you'll only be able to read them, however, on rainy winter nights.
I thanks ye for signin' up and markin' your spot to be on me Pirate crew. Since we have a vast, big ship, we ain't got 'nough crew to man her across the seven seas and me thinks that the seas be rough this time o' year. We needs many more hands to sail and not much time 'fore we launch.

I be's invitin' you to looks at the new PRE-CONTEST over in ye's Pirate Book Thread. Its be open until November 2, so ye wants to look soon.

Yer Captain
Hi Elee,

Thanks for accepting my friend request.
When did you move from London to Brisbane? Do you like the change?
I went up to Brissy in Feb this year (just a holiday thing) and I found it kinda strange, he he he... guess I'm just used to Sydney. Have you been down here?

Catcha laters & have a fab w/end!
Thanks for adding BannedBooksLibrary to your Interesting Libraries, Erin. Happy Reading!

18 out of 84 shared (good ones, too)--not bad! I'll look forward to the day when you catalog the rest of your books.

Infinite Jest is one I haven't gotten around to yet. I was thinking of tackling it recently, but I decided in favor of Proust. So maybe IJ will be a project for next year--The Broom certainly left me wanting more.
