About meNYC mother of two young adults; special education teacher of teens with autism. Love music, reading, writing, poetry, the beach, driving. I dream of living in New Mexico, reading in the desert!

About my libraryLots of books, lots of genres. My favorites are literary fiction and poetry, and, for brain "down time," mysteries (mostly cozy but some thrillers, procedurals, and a strong section of Nordic Noirs). I have 8 bookcases and lots of piles and bins and boxes. I've expanded my addiction to include electronic books-I thought it would get rid of the piles but it just added electronic piles! (and thousands more books) I have books that were my parents from the 1940s and my own beginning...well, somewhat later. ;)

Hi, EllieNYC. I saw your review when I posted my own about Deborah Masel's book, Soul to Soul, and just wanted to tell you how perfectly you captured my feelings. You said Masel's story "wrecked" you with its beauty and pain, and that's how I felt, too. I could hardly finish the book, because it made me so aware of how short our lives really are, but it was a worthwhile book to read. Kudos on your review.
