Thanks for the welcome. I keep forgetting to come on here but have been adding a few more books. Have had to travel around the site again, as I had lost my way on how to do the simplest of things....lol. Will try and pop in a bit more
Hi Emma

Thanks for writing. I actually found the Alice Hoffman group through you. I was checking out your library. LOL!

I loved Lamb! I thought it his best book by far. He walks the tight and narrow of being funny without being sacreligious, which is quite a feat.

Another author you would probably enjoy is Jasper Fforde. He's kind of like Christopher Moore with a literary spin. I haven't read any of his Nursery Crimes series, but the Thursday Next (the name of his main character) are wonderously bizzare and fun.

Hi Emma
Just noticed that you're new to LibraryThing too. I am quite addicted but find it's cutting into my reading time. I've joined the 1001 books you Must Read Before You Die group. It has a broad focus as everyone likes different books but with 1001 to choose from there's always interesting discussions. Check it out and see what you think. There's also a cool spreadsheet that someone's done that calculates how many books you need to read each year to finish all 1001 books before you die.
Have looked at Alice Hoffman website - can't understand why she's not more popular in Australia.
Have just noticed you're a Ken Follett fan. I've just finished Pillars of the Earth, though haven't added it yet to my list. I mostly get my books through an internet library and so have my name down for the sequel (title of which escapes me). Have you read it yet? It's another huge book.
I was actualy very excited when I saw you had started the group. I don't know how I had missed this author in all my years of reading. I know practically nothing about her, though thanks to the group I can start to track down some of her books. Am I right in thinking she's Canadian? My local library has four copies of Probable Future but nothing else on the shelf.
