About meI'm both a writer and a reader. I've been a bookworm since before I could read on my own, and my love for books hasn't diminished as I've gotten older. I've been writing for almost as long as I've been reading.

About my libraryAs you'll see if you browse through my library, I have eclectic taste in books. You could say my tastes are broad, but "narrow but diverse" is probably more accurate. I'm almost finished entering in all my books, though I haven't yet touched the books from my childhood, which are currently stored in boxes in the basement. I usually only enter in books that I've read, and sometimes ones I'm in the process of reading.

I'm keeping track of my reading using tags; a book read in January 2007, for example, will be tagged "2007" and "January 2007." In order to keep track of my reading this way, I've entered in some books that I've borrowed from others; those are tagged "read but not owned." Books tagged "booksfree" are from booksfree.com, a book rental site.

I try to rate most of the books I enter, with the exception of reference books and other anomalies (how on earth do you rate the Bible? Or a dictionary, for that matter?). My ratings aren't based on objective standards of quality, only on how much (or how little) I enjoyed the book.

To see the books I've read most recently, search the tags in my catalog for the current month and year (e.g. "february 2008") or sort my catalog by entry date so the most recent date is at the top.

Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to learn a little more about the book before you commit:

Wasn't Marc Parent's book, Turning Stones, a fantastic memoir?
I saw you were looking for a wordpress widget. I have one that works on my blog. I got it from someone here on the LT forumns. My blog address is http://justinroepel.wordpress.com/ just in case the html doesn't come thru for you.

Just add in the brackets for html and change the user name after the view=. It should work for you. Let me know how it goes.
Hi, I saw that you were getting Sitting Practice as an early reviewer - so am I. Have you received your copy yet?
I hope you like those Libba Bray books. We have a lot of the same YA books, I noticed, so I thought those would be a good choice.

The third book just came out a few days ago and I stayed up until 4 am this morning reading it (it's over 800 pages long!). Happy reading! - Lisa
Thank you thank you thank you for my SantaThing books! I was getting all bummed this morning because they hadn't come yet, and less than 20 minutes later, the UPS guy rang the doorbell! What a wonderful surprise!

They both look great - I'd heard of both of the authors, although I haven't read anything by either - and I can't wait to start reading them! I've been reading mostly literary fiction for the past two months, and am excited to dive back into some good fantasy.

Thank you again for your wonderful, thoughtful choices, and I hope you have a fantastic holiday!

Have you noticed the discussion regarding "flagging"? I did not know what it meant. . . Now I have read your review and notice someone flagged it, tho I cannot understand why. You gave your reaction, and some interesting details and I should call that a valid review (see mine!!!!) At any rate please do not be bothered. Just continue to read and enjoy, and apply for more ER books, as I will. Esta1923
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Hi, I noted that you noted Mind Fuck as a top book this year. Of course, I checked it out but there's only one review in German and no description. What's this book about? Thanks. :-)
Hi there -- i really enjoyed browsing your library. You've given me some interesting ideas for books to add to my 'to read' pile (which is out of hand). For example, now that i've read your tags for Earthfall by Orson Scott Card, how could i not add it? :-)
Ok, thanks.
Ok, thanks. So everyone on the planet has psionic abilities of some sort?
Hi zc

I see you have read Ann Maxwell's Timeshadow Rider - I saw that on a list somewhere or other, maybe Clute perhaps of superhuman/theme SF. Can you tell me a little about it?

Thanks,

bt
