On the forums: I think a wide range of responses to such posts is acceptable. When I do respond, ridicule/satire is my default currently (but not in that post); however, some posts just need to sink under the weight of their own bloated idiocy.

Initially I had to add the books manually, because the IE does not seem to be compatible with the Russian State Library. But then - a miracle - I switched to FireFox and it now works smoothly. So far I find most books in RSL and I use ozon.ru (internet store) to beef up my records (no automatic uploads, but they have silly summaries and often - tables of contents.
I don't have anything outstanding (old, rare etc) in my collection - so far, so good. Am still into minds about tagging, but will manage, Im sure.
The biggest problem is that LT does not support Cyrillics properly........

Mel Brooks is unknown to me, and perhaps something still to discover. I appreciated Woody Allen in my youth.
I feel a particular kinship towards the BBC vet-series "All creatures great and small", not only meaning the jokes, funny things which happen in it, but a profound approval of the countryside life and mentality shown to the viewer about an era which has evaporated already for a long time. Perhaps you will will know these series which were filmed late '70ies of last century on location in Yorkshire, UK.
The picture on my profile page is a painting from Fernand Knopff, very much reflecting the symbolistic atmosphere of Rodenbachs "Bruge la morte" in the late 19th century.

In other news, I've begun cataloging my DVD's on Take11, but don't know if I'll pursue it. They charge 25 bucks every two years, which I think is a bit excessive. I will probably continue to keep track of them on IMDB, but that has its pros and cons as well...
Anyway, thanks for another good "recommendation"!

I found your comments interesting (the discussion had to do with the British in India...facts vs. fictional points of view of those times).
