Talk to you soon,
Michelle
P.S. Thanks for the note about your job - google was pretty accurate this time, and I learned something (from you both)!

I thought you might be interested to know that I just finished recommending a book for purchase to our local Public Library, based on one of your reviews.
The book was "Spiced" by Dalia Jurgensen. After reading your review, I did a little further research, and decided that it's definitely something that I would like to read. I also think that it's a book that would be an assect to the library's collection.
(Despite the size of my library, I only purchase or mooch a fraction of what I actually read) ;-}

You've got a fantastic looking blog - lots for me to read there over the next little while. I loved your Whoopi post about R.P. - how true!
I'm just about to google "foreign service worker" to see what it is you do (when you're not reading or watchng home decorating shows).
I saw my first and second (and only) NHL games in Washington last Christmas and the year before. My husband's brother lives in Maryland ao we have visited the area. Washington is a beautiful, wonderful, dynamic city - you must love it there.
Anyways, hope you enjoy your new-found treasures, and The 19th Wife, which I hope won't take too long to get to you!
Take care,
Michelle

I found a copy of “The Merry Month of May” by James Jones for rphalliburton (message #23 in your Upcoming Used Book Sale thread). She says it’s by Mary White, but everything I’ve seen says James Jones. I'm mooching it for her. If you find a book by that title by Mary White you should grab it, but otherwise I’ve got it covered.
I really appreciate your doing this, by the way – I go to Library Sales and having a list and trying to find things with everybody milling around and grabbing things is hard to do.
Good luck, have fun, and more power to you and your elves.

And I take your point... That's how I look at it too - and I know my local Borders has lost a huge amount from my purse! In fact, it is often better for me to send international in regards to cost per point. But local postage is expensive here, like Canada!
If you have another you think I might like to mooch, I am open to all sorts of recommendations BTW. :)
Thanks again - and if you need help from down here with a mooch, please ask...I'm actually an 'official' angel - meaning I'm on the list - is all.

I'd love your copy of The Painter Knight, but would you be willing to send to Australia? I understand if it is too expensive - but nothing ventured, nothing gained... I guess. It would be much appreciated..
My BM name is Lman too - let me know,

Went to mooch the book today (wasn't able to get online yesterday because of power trouble) but unfortunately BM is down...I expect it'll be back up by tomorrow morning (it's 10pm here), but if you manage to get online before I do, I'd appreciate it if you'd extend the reservation :)
Sorry!

Sorry for the delay in replying - I've been away, lucky me :)
Despite a lot of trying, I've never managed to get this far with an angel, so congrats! Listing it and reserving it for me should work just fine, don't you think? :)
Many thanks for helping me out!

Not an inappropriate venue at all. Thank you so much for writing. I'm so glad that you and your mom both enjoyed THE LEISURE SEEKER. Thanks for your kind words.
I see you've already read Julie Metz' memoir. (And it isn't even out yet.) Julie designed the cover for the hardcover edition for my first book. We've just gotten to know each other over the past few months via Facebook. She's really cool. I'm looking forward to reading PERFECTION myself. I just got Tim Gautreaux's THE MISSING too. I'm looking forward to reading that too. I love his stories.
Hope this finds you well.
Best,
Michael
PS: Don't know if you're interested, but I'm doing a member giveaway on LibraryThing for my new collection of short fiction, THE LOST TIKI PALACES OF DETROIT. I think the details are on my author page. (Frankly, I'm still figuring out how to use LibraryThing.)

Your reviews should be showing up at Here Be Reviews now. Keep in mind that only reviews posted in the last 48 hours will be in the list (used to be 5 days, but that was causing an unusual level of buggy-ness).
Cheers,
