Just starred your excellent review of Tom Wolfe's Bonfire. Particularly like that you shared "Savonarola, he of the original bonfire of the vanities". What did we miss not seeing the "investment bankers" as the criminal syndicates they turned out to be?
Re: Book of Jewish Food, I'm not sure I've made anything from it. For the most part, I collect Jewish cookbooks in hardcover for the history and eye candy. I sometimes actually use them on holidays, but I should make more of the tastes-good-cold Shabbos food if only to get more variety in E's school lunches (I've been over-relying on nut butter sandwiches).
