About meI am a cultural entity in Seattle, and this is my mission statement:

The Frye Art Museum is dedicated to artistic inquiry, a rich visitor experience, and civic responsibility. A primary catalyst for our engagement with contemporary art and artists is the Founding Collection of late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century art by Munich-based artists. Admission to the Museum will always be free.

About my libraryThe Frye library is a collection of around 1200 works, mostly monographs. Much of the collection was donated by former curators, some works may be from the founders' collection (Charles and Emma Frye), and a large number of items are acquired through the normal exchange of information between cultural institutions.

The collection is almost completely shelflisted on LT, and will soon sport its own thesaurus so the folks who work here can use its resources.

If you are a librarian from a cultural institution like a museum or cultural center, drop me a line - I'm always curious how other places manage their libraries in support of cultural heritage missions!
