About my libraryThis is the Library of the German Cultural Center at Nazareth College, Rochester NY. It began in the mid-1990's and has been gradually augmented by purchases relevant to student learning in the German academic major and also with donations from German-American families living in the Rochester area. A significant fact of this library is that many books - many of them German novels - were donated by German heritage families living in western New York. Consequently, our holdings represent what many middle-class Germans read, from 1895 to about 1950.
Not all GCC Library holdings are, as of Fall 2013, entered into the database. As we have time and student part time help, we will complete it.
As it turns out, some of our books are rare. Donors frequently want to give us their books to be sure that their family's German heritage legacy is preserved in some way.
