About me Married 25 year old from NY, avid reader and 5 year used/rare bookstore manager. Now back in college and only working odd jobs, which has slowed down my book purchasing by orders of magnitude.

Too many books to probably ever complete this, but figured I'd give it a shot to look at paterns such as unread or non-fiction science (which may get subdivided as time goes on. My wife's books will get tagged as such, but many titles that belong to one of us may be regarded as "ours" by both, by virtue of enjoying it. Therefore, many titles, especially fiction and science, will be inaccurately tagged, regardless of what they say. Basically, I'm throwing this all up here as an excercise in controlled OCD, and to have a way to analyze the patterns for fun.

In addition, friends can use this to look up books they might want to borrow. The only restrictions on that are that I don't lend out volumes from either my Arabian Nights or Twain sets, as well as some of the books labeled "First Edition" and "Signed", because of their value.

About my library Books that belong to my wife will be tagged "Samantha".

Things like "Unread" refer to whether I have read it, not her, and will only imply that it is one of her books I intend to read when accompanying the tag "Samantha".

When not accompanying it, it menas that it is yet another book I have picked up and have not yet gotten to.

Samantha herself may add her own tags later.

If I get to it and hate it after a couple of hours, I may remove the "Unread" tag.

"Proof/Arc" designates either an Uncorrected Proof or an Advance Reader's Copy, both of which precede the First Edition and share an ISBN with it.

"Unknown Origin" means I have no idea where this book came from. I may have theories, but I'm never certain.

"Intended Gift" means this was picked up with the intention of giving it as a gift. There may have been an intended person as well, but it isn't likely.

"Waiting" means I am waiting to read this, probably until I fill in the rest of a series, but possibly for some other reason.

"Unopened" does not mean that I never looked into the book. It means that it is somehow sealed, such as being shrink-wrapped.

There are several designations for when I own multiple copies of the book.

"Double-HC Pb" means I have both a Hard Cover and a Paperback copy of the book, hence two.

"Double-1 Each" means I have two copies because my wife and I each own one, so two, one of which will (randomly) get tagged "Samantha".

"Double" means I have two that are the same binding (HC or Pb), both mine, for some reason.

"Triple" means I have three copies of this book, that are the same binding (HC or Pb), all mine, for some reason (yes, this will be needed).

Multiple uses of the codes designating multiple copies means that there are more than two (or three) copies of this book, using some combination of the above four, in which case the number may be found by counting each designation of Double books as 1 copy, and each designation of Triple books as 2, and then adding 1 to the total.

The "Gift" tag is solely for books otherwise unexplainable that were gifts. Many other books were gifts as well, but those were well suited gifts.

Most others should be obvious, but more may be added to this list later.
