About me Photo tells all: what is the first thing you unpack in a new domicile? Why, the library, of course! After the books are unpacked, the rest is easy! I am, of course, a reader. An English major, too, so much of the library was obtained to fulfil course requirements. After which, I found I enjoyed most of them! Enough of this - back to my book!

About my library Found LibraryThing last Christmas, and have worked on cataloging in fits & starts. Will do more this break. I read lots of everything, but having been a student for the past 6 years, restricted buying to those items I had to have for class, or had read multiple times (w/assistance from libraries, of course) & decided I needed to own, as I would probably read again. I read science fiction, fantasy, spy novels, biography, literary criticism and theory, classics, Russian authors, modern fiction, historical fiction, and anything else that catches my eye.

I just read your review of The Commoner and couldn't agree more. I've had a few run-ins with fellow readers who adore Memoirs of a Geisha, but I've always felt it was a Western white man's fantasy of what it must be like to be an Asian woman.
