About meThe Martin Glaberman Labor Library is an independent Library in Portland, Oregon. It was established by the Portland Branches of the IWW after being donated Marty Glaberman’s books and papers. The IWW felt that instead of holding on the the library for it’s own use, the library could serve as a catalyst for wider workers’ education and organizing.
So the IWW and friends created Workers Education and Resource Center, an independent Educational Association to run the Glaberman as a community center to:
• Create an archive of working class history, accessible in the library and on-line.
• To carry on broad educational work, forums and trainings.
Currently our collection contains nearly 3000 books, 300 pamphlets, 25 yards of papers and collections of nearly 100 serial publications.
We are located in Liberty Hall, a community labor center based in Portland, Oregon.
