About meNothing much to know about me, only that I love to read and write :)

About my libraryI'm a lover of the vampire-genres and a big fan of the horror genre. I don't mind romance novels, but I like the darker themes a bit more than the romance.

hey Gothgirl ^^
it's been some time since i last heard from you(or anyone form this website actually)
how've you been?
Hey Gothgirl. Haven't heard from you in ages. Please stop by sometime and tell me all your news. I'd love to catch up.
I've been great , Junior this year, Hate Geometry cause my teacher can't teach and I'm failing the class
Hey how've you been?
Hey. How are you? By now, you've probably heard about "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" featured in the Twilight Zone section on my page. Well I just heard yesterday that you can read it for free online until July 5th, so if you're pinching pennies, you don't need to actually buy it. Here's the link: http://breetannerbook.libredigital.com/index.html. To get to the book, click on the red CONTENTS button on the left and then click on each section from top to bottom in turn. I've not read it yet so no spoilers please. Have fun reading it.

Please spread the word to your TwiNut pals ok - the ones where you don't see the same post as this one on their page.

heyyya omg i cant wait for vampire kisses 7!!!!! :D
Hey Gothgirl,

How have you been? I'm on spring break as of last night, but am trying to catch up on math homework and get ahead in other subjects, but am taking a day off to spend with my friend and also hope to get some reading in. What have you been up to?

The FINAL WEEK to vote for Jordan has finally arrived. It ends on March 28th or 29th (I forget which) and you can vote from as many computers as you want, but only once per computer per day. Would you mind voting EVERY DAY for him until the deadline since it's only a few days away? Here's the link: http://www.soundcheck.com.au/showEntry.do?entryId=1708. Perhaps you have some friends who can help to? ;) Thanks in advance for helping out. :)

Hope to hear from you soon with all your news. I get really busy with college nowadays, but really miss chatting to everyone on here.

Love,

Hermee

Enjoy.
discovered this stunning video:

That's okay. Gave me the chance to find this little gem. It's the funniest thing; it's a literal video version of Creed's "Arms Wide Open."

When he sang "I need Bruce Willis" (1:42), and later at 2:48 when he goes "Pee pee naa naa blah," I was laughing so hard I choked.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMlA8nQ0bXc&feature=related

I hope you (1) don't like Creed or (2) have a great sense of humor and is okay with someone paying an homage to Creed. :)

Sorry about your computer. Mine too. And my printer is worse, see here:

Someone forwarded me this unbelievably funny video; it's based on this concept where people with a lot of creativity and time rework lyrics to fit the music video.

Oh, That's interesting
Thanks for your interest in reading my books....
Thanks for the comments
I love that picture.
It was on Sunday night and ... well perhaps it's just me, but I thought it was one of the corniest, most unfunny shows I've ever seen. Even the Harry Potter trailer was bad. The second one's good, but they showed the first, which I'm not keen on and Adam ... well if he was there, I didn't see him.

The highlights were Twilight. We saw the cast many times and the almost kiss was kinda funny. Saw the new trailer too. Have added it to the TV Appearances thread in the New Moon Movie forum if you'd like to check it out. :)
Here's your friendly nudge to watch this today ...

i ONLY wear blue

i call myself a bloth (blue goth conbimed)
last time i didnt were blue was 2 yrs. ago
you're welcome. i'm glad you enjoyed Googoth; who knew they had a sense of humor? love your pic too, is it Calliope, muse of epic poetry? is it me, or was the image reversed; did it originally face the other way?

i was just reading your "About my library," and have you read [Heroes Die] by Mathew Stover (http://www.librarything.com/work/1989322/book/29667521) or Consider Phlebas by Iain Banks (http://www.librarything.com/work/18595/book/29667348)---although it's sf; i dont know if you like that or not. And i lukewarmly recommend [World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War] by Max Brooks; but go for the audiobook version, not the printed version. it works really well even though the Audio version was abridged.

i wish i can say i've already read Vampirates, but i'm still working my way through [blind Assassin] and [Little, big.] I'll get to it, though.

keep flying.

"Hot Chicks Washing Car." it's two guys in bright yellow chicken suits washing a car. maybe i'm just juvenile. or it could be the color yellow---it has never failed to make me laugh, ever since my friend wore this absolutely ridiculous yellow hat; it's become a kind of a Pavlov response, i think.

You do that. :D
my lifes pretty good...u?
LOL!!! Freaky Pride FTW! OME, I love that name, but it's really awkward when I introduce myself to people, I'm like, "I'm That-Super-Awesome-Chick." and they're like, "Haha, no, really, what's your name?" And I'm like, "I just told you, That-Super-Awesome-Chick." And they're like, "Oh, right." Super awkward! :D
you should read its awsum!! And its also about werewolves!!!
have u read Blood and Chocolate?
totally!!!! :)
I just hope they don't mess it up and make even more people fall for edward. my friend told me that the werewolves in New Moon are real actual wolves. I hope they computerize them to make them bigger cuz like in Blood and Chocolate they used real wolves and it wasn't all that great in my opinon besides that the movie didn't go along with the book. don't get me wrong i think its neat that they mite use wolves but yeah i hope that they go along with New Moon too. :)
omg me too!!!!! what's your veiw on the movie?
LOL!!!! That's what i tell My BFF Virginia too!!! lol actually today i'm n my Team Jacob Shirt!

thank you and tell ur frinds hi 4 me you sound cool!:)
thank you!:)
hey why dont u go to the library instead of waisting ur money thats what i do!
Let me know what you think when you do. I got Alice and Nicky to read it as well and they love it too. Dopey's got the first one in her library, but I don't think she's read it yet. Perhaps she'd like to read it with you. You could always add it to an updated list in Bookmates when you're ready to start. :)
No worries. Do you mean you bought the whole series? Am sure you'll want to read it several times so that's a good idea. I take most books out of the library, only buying those I love. After reading the first one, I bought all those released so far in paperback at the time (1-5) coz I loved the first one so much so am sure you will as well. They get better with each one too.
Hi, Gothgirl. If you'd like to add all the books in The Sisters Grimm series to your library, they're all in this tag in my library: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Hermee&tag=fairytales%2Bwith%2Ba%2Btwist. When I add a series to my library, I add the name of the series followed by the book title in that series and add which book it is in parentheses after that, such as "(book 2)" so you can see the order that way.
Here are some more recommendations for you, Gothgirl:

I see in your profile now that you've said you like horror and action books. Am not a fan of horror, but the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan is very popular with teens. I liked the author's writing style a lot. Just found a couple of things in it really spooky. This is the first one in the series: http://www.librarything.com/work/220546/book/38104728. Despite not being a fan, I do have a horror tag. Just haven't read many in it. There are a few I'd like to read so we can read them together if you like. If you're interested, why don't you add the ones you like to a thread in Bookmates called "Gothgirl23's Choices" so others can reply to it to let you know if they'd like to read it with you. Here are the ones in my horror tag that I'd most like to read:

The Face in the Frost by John Bellairs: http://www.librarything.com/work/113773/descriptions/38347181
The Johnny Dixon Mysteries: 1, 2, 3 by John Bellairs: http://www.librarything.com/work/7105774/book/38346835
The Ghost in the Mirror by John Bellairs: http://www.librarything.com/work/108924/book/38346436

The Doom of the Haunted Opera by John Bellairs: http://www.librarything.com/work/296558/book/38346449
Count Karlstein by Philip Pullman: http://www.librarything.com/work/126057/book/38255408
Uncle Montague's Tales of Terror by Chris Priestley: http://www.librarything.com/work/3602815/book/38017362
Tales of Terror From the Black Ship by Chris Priestley: http://www.librarything.com/work/7248656/book/38017372
My Haunted House (book 1 of the Araminta Spookie series) by Angie Sage: http://www.librarything.com/work/3487893/book/38019916

What do you mean by action books exactly? Do you mean suspense, mystery, adventure and survival books, or all four? How about fantasy?
Ooh, I should have checked your library before adding that coz I see you have nine books now. You might find some you really like the sound of if you peek at my tags you know coz there are tags for lots of genres, plus I've added tags for things like "portrait" if there's a mystery, say, about a missing portrait or something like that (helps those on LT find books they can't think of when they can only remember bits about the book), and "stories told by letter or diary" coz Nicky, Alice, Fely and I love books told in that format.
Are the two in your library the only two books you own or do you have more? If more, I'd recommend adding those plus all the books you can remember that you've read that you enjoyed. I have a batch I started adding that I don't actually like so need to delete them from mine. It shows you on the right of your profile page who has books you own and it's not very accurate if it's ones you don't like.

I have tons of tags, but would recommend you have one for books you've read and one called something like "must reads" so you can refer to it when you want to order books from your library. Do you do that by the way? San Diego has a wonderful library system. Did you know there are city libraries and county libraries? County libraries tend to get new releases before the city libraries so if you're eager to get hold of a particular book, try them first. You need a separate library card for county libraries (white) and city libraries (blue), and can only return city library books to city libraries (any branch no matter which one you took it out from) and county library books to county libraries.

Both are online and have a wonderful ordering system. It's a while since I went to a county library coz they have a new one in my area that's wonderful (but please don't mention my area in a comment unless you mark it as private - for safety reasons) so I go there all the time now. Have you tried ordering books online? They send you an email once they've arrived and you have eight days to pick it up. Pretty nifty.

So tell me what types of books you like and I'll recommend some according to your taste. :)

P.S. Recommend has one C and two M's. :)
Well wicked or dangerous by 50's standards anyway. Nowadays, there are a lot more sinister looking folks around I reckon. Greasers looked really slick and cool.

So are you going to add anymore books to your library? It's looking mighty sad with only two in it. ;)
Yeah, the first one is so much better. You might find this interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greaser_(subculture). Several 50's movies featuring greasers are listed there too as well as t.v. programs. I used to love Happy Days. The Fonz must be the most famous greaser in t.v. :)
By the way, I think they typically called gang members greasers in the 50's. Others in movies that spring to mind are those in Grease. Hmm, would go with the title too now I think of it. :D
That's the book the movie I know is based on. :D Here's the link if you'd like to rent it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086066/
You know, I keep hearing about that book. Am very familiar with the movie called "The Outsiders" and am wondering if it's based on that book. Is it about a bunch of boys who get into trouble? Tried looking it up, but there seem to be a few with that title. Who wrote the one you like?

Welcome to Bookmates. If you have any questions after reading the description in it, let me know. :)
So what sort of action and horror books do you like? Which are ones you've read that you enjoy?
Hello, Gothgirl, and thank you. :) Actually have them all in my library (forgot I had the whole series in there) and plan to read the first one over the next month or so coz I'm eager to get to it. Just need to get through a stack of library books first. It sounds really exciting and I can see you think so too since you've given it five stars. :D If you'd like to add the series to a must reads tag in your library, here's the link to mine: http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=Hermee&deepsearch=vampirates. You could just click on the book title, then "Add to my library" then to save yourself from looking them all up. :) Have not seen them displayed in my library so crossing fingers they have the first one at least. It's such an original idea to cross vampires and pirates. Who'd have thought? Ooh aargh.

If you're looking for the other books in the series by the way, here are links to wear you can get them:

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keyw...

Barnes and Noble: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=vampirates

By the way, I noticed it says San D at the top of your profile. I'm in San Diego so I'm guessing you are as well.

~ Hermee
"You have very good taste in books and authors."

Thank you very much! You actually have a copy of Black Heart? I haven't been able to find it in the US myself yet.

have a great day!
