About meI'm an author and filmmaker with a passion for horror. In my younger days, Iw rote and directed three low budget horror films: SLIME CITY, UNDYING LOVE and NAKED FEAR. They've been collected together as GREG LAMBERSON'S SLIME CITY GRINDHOUSE COLLECTION, available July 28, 2009.My first novel, PERSONAL DEMONS, won the Anubis Award for Horror. It was published as a Limited Edition hardcover and trade paperback by Broken Umbrella Press. In October, 2009, Medallion is reprinting it as a mass market paperback, under the umbrella title "The Jake Helman Files," because it will be an ongoing series. I've already completed the second title and am working on the third. I hope to be in the Jake Helman business for a long time.I had two books published in 2008: JOHNNY GRUESOME, which has been nominated for a Superior Achievement in a Novel Bram Stoker Award, and won the "Best Small Press" Readers' Choice Black Quill Award, and my instructional filmmaking book, CHEAP SCARES! LOW BUDGET HORROR FILMMAKERS SHARE THEIR SECRETS, which was nominated for a Superior Achievement in Nonfiction Bram Stoker Award.JOHNNY GRUESOME has its own spinoff material: a rock CD, GRUESOME; on-line comic books (winner of the NYC Horror Film Festival' Best Comic Book, 2007); a collectible mask; and an 8-minute "Mini-Movie," which is included in GREG LAMBERSON'S SLIME CITY GRINDHOUSE COLLECTION.This summer, I'm shooting a new movie, SLIME CITY MASSACRE. In October 2010, Medallion is publishing my werewolf novel, THE FRENZY WAY. And I was hired to create and launch FearZone.com, one of the top 10 most trafficked horror entertainment websites, which I continue to edit.

About my libraryHonestly, my DVD library is larger than my book library. Because I write horror, a lot of my friends' work is published as expensive small press volumes, which leaves little money for more affordable books; I also read a lot of advance copies in digital form. My favorite authors tend to be non-genre writers: John Irving, Richard Russo, Michael Chabon. Within the genre, I love King, Straub and MAtehson.
