About meI currently work for Prison Fellowship International as their office administrator in the Washington, D.C., area. In previous work life, I managed the office of a church in northern Virginia. I have abstracted books and articles for Restorative Justice Online, an Internet resource for restorative justice. I have also engaged in other research and writing projects on a consulting basis. Further back I worked for Prison Fellowship International as director of training, as the lay assistant to the rector of an Episcopal church in Pittsburgh, and as an editorial assistant in the federal government. My formal education consists of a bachelor’s in English from the University of Maryland, a master of divinity from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry, and a master of philosophy and doctor of philosophy in theological and religious studies from Drew University. I reside in Sterling, Virginia, with my wife, Karen (a senior vice president at Prison Fellowship Ministries, USA). Our daughter, Kate, a rising poet, is now in her second year at Gordon College, a very fine small, Christian liberal arts college in Wenham, Massachusetts.

We share an appreciation of Ivan Doig, I see. I am planning to write reviews of all his books. If you would like to do that too it would be interesting to see how we overlap! (I just got our Christmas letter. . . they mention that quite possibly a movie will be made of The Whistling Season.) Esta1923
