About meI am 50-something living in central MA. I was educated in Arizona (Prescott College) and New York (Cornell). I am partial to deserts and islands and oceans. Unless it is tropical, I am not terribly fond of endless green. I have lived, worked and travelled throughout Arizona, New Mexico and the rest of the American Southwest, Mexico, Micronesia, Polynesia, New Zealand, Iceland, South Africa, Thailand and Cambodia
About my libraryMostly non-fiction with a focus on anthropology, ethnohistory (Oceania and Southwest), archaeology, bioarchaeology, mortuary studies.
I have a growing library of fiction, particularly Latin American (Fuentes,Paz,Garcia-Marquez,Borges). Unfortunately I do not read Spanish well enough to parse the vernacular. I am particularly fond of Haruki Murakami since reading Wind-Up Bird Chronicle about 10 years ago. I have read nearly all his work.
