Thank you for your comment, re "Rhetoric of Fiction". This was an accidental find for me in a library sale, but turned out to be life-changing in the sense that it opened my eyes to the value of the classics. My entire reading regime has been altered for the better. Recommendations welcome! I'm contemplating James Wood's "How Fiction Works"
