Great to see someone else with this book. I loved the way he made light of the difficulties of travel when there were so few foreign travellers. And to be given the freedom to visit so many out of the way places. Some really good descriptions of different regions. I wonder if some of them have really changed much today?

My copy is a bit battered and well read but will keep it on my shelf.
