About meI am a former librarian who works in the software industry. I love working with geeks and I guess I am one, too. My favorite pastime is reading and going to the library. Fortunately, I married a man who loves to read, too. I so much enjoy LibraryThing because it allows me to list all the books that I want to read. How wonderful to never be at a loss for something interesting to read.
I use my public library often, especially the "reserving books" privilege. It's wonderful to have a book waiting for me on the shelf. And I do think of our libraries as such a wonderful privilege. They are a priceless treasure.
About my libraryI love non-fiction. I am one of those people who thinks of fiction as made up stories without edification. The only exception are mysteries and humor. Those have a purpose.
(That is just my preference-I just don't like fiction that much)
Therefore, most of my interests in books are with non-fiction, reference, how-to, self-improvement, do it yourself, educational, biography..etc. type books.
I also enjoy reading Readers' Advisory books and books such as BOOK LUST by Nancy Pearl. They fulfill the librarian side of me, which is another reason I appreciate LibraryThing.
I am a Christian and enjoy books about being a better Christian and Christian living.
Non-fiction is a way to improve our knowledge and travel the world.
God Bless you, fellow bibliophiles.
