About meI'm the author of two novels, most recently, The Salt God's Daughter (due out September 4th, 2012!), which was just chosen as a Library Journal's Editor's Pick from BEA. My first novel, The Language of Trees debuted in July 20, 2010. I'm a mother to three, a traveler to lost cities, and a collector of antiques.

An early review from Gregory Maguire (Wicked) for The Language of Trees:
“The Language of Trees, like Whitman’s Leaves of Grass though in a magic realist vernacular, refreshingly asserts that deeply American conviction: the gravest natural instinct is to heal and be healed. A shimmeringly heart-felt story.”
— Gregory Maguire, author of the Wicked series

Ilie Ruby won the Phi Kappa Phi Award for Fiction, the Eden L. Moses Award, a Kerr Foundation Fiction Scholarship, the Wesleyan Writer’s Conference Scholarship in NonFiction, and the Barbara Kemp Award for Outstanding Teaching and Scholarship. She has published poems and short stories in literary and online magazines, and is the former fiction editor of The Southern California Anthology. A graduate of the Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California, she has worked for PBS in Honduras, as well as taught elementary school in Los Angeles. Ms. Ruby lives near Boston.

Yes, by all means. I anxiously await your next book.
I just finished the Language of Trees. I LOVED IT!! I have told so many people about it. I work for B&N and I will be adding this title to our reading group favorites table. Congratulations on a great read!!
I was born in Lyons, New York, lived in Syracuse for several years, and have lived in LaFayette for 15 years (my father was born and raised in Rochester). Your book sounds quite interesting, I'll have to be sure to check it out! Thanks for the friend request!
